Full Body Sanding
Encore delivers state-of-the-art robotic sanding solutions for full-body applications, offering both wet and dry sanding on the prime layer, as well as comprehensive full-body scuffing solutions for the e-coat layer. Our advanced automated wet sanding system, implemented on a high-performance vehicle, demonstrated significant improvements in vertical appearance, achieving over 2.5 points of R-value gain. The system is powered by six foundry robots on rails, providing seamless and high-coverage sanding across the entire vehicle body. To maintain efficiency, each robot is equipped with an automatic sandpaper changer, allowing for continuous operation without manual intervention. Additionally, a versatile tool-changing system on the last two robots enables automatic 3-inch to 6-inch sander head swaps, adapting to different vehicle mixes with ease.

PushCorp Sanders
Encore Automation partnered with Harley-Davidson to develop an automated sanding cell designed to enhance the finish quality of their painted components. Harley-Davidson's process involved using large metallic flakes in their basecoat, which would sometimes protrude through the first layer of clear coat, requiring precise sanding before applying the second layer. To address this, we integrated a robotic sanding solution, using PushCorp Sanding tools, that efficiently refined the surface, ensuring a smoother, more uniform finish and an improved overall appearance.
